My most successful days begin with a happy morning. I mean, it’s hard to #bstyleinspired when you’re running around with wet hair, trying to figure out an outfit when you only have 15 minutes to get to where you’re supposed to be. (And trust me, I’ve totally been there.) . That is why I want to make sure you are equipped with some really easy tools to help you inspire your style. My five ways to inspire your style are things you can utilize every morning to get the day started on the right foot.

Let’s start with your mornings. right. In general, when you have a bad morning experience with your wardrobe it can effect the rest of you day. Have a great experience? And imagine how that energy then joins you out the door and into the office!

That is why your morning routine is your first line of defense to having an uninspired style experience. When you put care and intention into your morning routine, and specifically into picking out an outfit that makes you feel confident, something magical happens! You carry that confidence throughout the day! Not only will you look good, but you will feel good and that can make all the difference. I want that feeling for you every day!

Knowing your mornings matter – let’s talk about game changing style tools to help you create a more creative morning and help you inspire you style.

 Make your closet, accessories and shoes easily available. It sounds basic, but trust me: the last thing you want to be doing in the mornings is stumbling around looking for your favorite top, accessories and all your shoes, especially when you first wake up. Instead of grabbing black, grab a bright color instead. I know that black and other dark colors and neutrals can feel safe–but why not step out of your comfort zone and try something bright? It can be as simple as a scarf, a pair of earrings or some bright pumps, but I guarantee that it will not only brighten your outfit, but your day as well.

Give yourself an extra 15 minutes in the morning before you get dressed. It’s amazing how much better you’ll feel when you do this. Use the extra 15 minutes to eat a healthy breakfast, make a smoothie, enjoy your favorite tea, meditate to raindrop sounds or even do a few quick yoga poses. Be kind to yourself and it’ll set the tone for your day.

Lay out one or two items the night before. Instead of picking a whole outfit out the night before, why not take the pressure off and just choose one or two pieces to work with in the morning–like a blouse and jacket combo, or a skirt and heels combo?  That way all you have to do is choose your pairing pieces that fit your mood or day and head out on your way.  We all know the stress of waking up, putting that “picked out” outfit on and just not feeling it, so this helps give you a morning push, while still offering space for creativity.  Plus, picking out your clothes in less of a rush will help you be more thoughtful and intentional.

Wear a power jewelry piece!  We all have those favorite accessory items in our closet that we save for special occasions. The ones that make us feel powerful, confident, sexy, beautiful – all the above! There is no reason to be holding on to them or saving them for that future moment. Enjoy the empowerment and wear it now! Try styling your piece unexpectedly! Wear a big coral necklace with a navy suit, or a sparkling necklace with t-shirt and jeans. Or try a colorful set of bangles and pop of color belt with your grey pencil skirt. Bottom line – have fun!
